Fully Biodegradable Water Based Glue and Mastic Remover.
Details:
DESCRIPTION
Glooz-Gone is a safe, nonflammable water based glue and mastic remover that effectively softens and removes most types of carpet adhesives and similar glue deposits. Glooz-Gone contains no chlorinated solvents, butyl solvents, or phosphates and contains only biodegradable surfactants. Glooz-Gone is low in VOC's. Glooz-Gone can be used on all types of floor substrates that have glue deposits, and where water can be used in the final rinse. It will not interfere with the adhesion of new glue or mastics, or the used of coatings and stains.
BENEFITS
Glooz-Gone is nonflammable and noncombustible, unlike most other glue removers. It is not only nonflammable, but it will not support combustion even when soaked into rags or mops. It is much more safer to use over most other glue and mastic removers. It has no harsh or unpleasant odors, yet actually has a good smelling citrus like scent. Glooz-Gone is emulsifiable. It penetrates the mastic and softens it with emulsifying action so that after scraping off the bulk of the glue, the remainder can be easily washed off with water. A water wash will then leave the floor clean and ready to be re-coated with glue or any other treatment. It is fast and easy. Just spray, mop, or brush Glooz-Gone over the mastic deposits to be removed, and let it penetrate for 20-45 minutes depending on the thickness and type of mastic. When the layer is softened, just scrape it off, and rinse the floor. No further treatment will be necessary. Please note that on a floor that is to be acid stained, it is recommended that it be treated with Crete-Prep to remove any imbedded material in the pores of the concrete. Sanding may also be necessary.
HOW TO USE
PREPARATION: Sweep the area to be cleaned free of trash and debris. Protect all areas not to be cleaned or stripped. Mask off all adjacent surfaces with painter's tape or plastic duct tape. If needed, use a plastic or coated cardboard as a spray shield.
APPLICATION: Apply Glooz-Gone by spray method liberally over glue/mastic concrete surface to be removed at an approximate coverage rate of 150-200 square feet per gallon. A stiff bristle brush should be used to agitate Glooz-Gone into the adhesive. Allow carpet remover to penetrate and emulsify coating for approximately 20-45 minutes depending up area temperature and relative humidity. A scraper should be used to remove emulsified adhesive. Heavily accumulated areas may also require a second treatment. Flush the stripped area with water. Rinse and mop op or use a wet shop vac to remove existing coating. Once dry, the floor is ready to apply coatings. If applying acid stain to existing concrete surface, use Crete-Prep to prepare the floor to be stained.
Glue and mastic can be trapped in the pores of a concrete surface. Mechanical means of profiling the floor may be necessary to apply some stains or coatings. Test prior to stain or coating application.
PLEASE NOTE: It is always recommended to test the product in a small, inconspicuous area (on the same concrete substrate) for desired results prior to application. Coverage rates may vary for all coatings and substrates depending on porosity, density, texture etc.
