DESCRIPTION:

Concentrated Crete Stains are a group of organic colored acid concrete stains. The final brilliant results are unmatched by any other process and leave an antique patina type finish. They react chemically with the mineral content of the concrete surface for a deep penetrating permanent stain. All of these stains are UV stable when sealed. Use interior or exterior. Concentrated Crete Stains may be diluted up to 1:1 with water. Test at different dilution rates. Concentrated Crete Stains can be applied to any clean concrete surface either inside or outside, such as pool decks, patios, driveways, basements, etc.

BENEFITS

Concentrated Crete Stains provide a wide range of color options. They are economical in the fact that they are indeed concentrated and can be diluted with water at up to a 1:1 ratio. This allows the end user to control the color by either using the stain straight, or using different dilution rates with water to achieve the right shade of color. Concentrated Crete Stains are U.V. stable when sealed with a quality sealer.

QUICK SURFACE TESTING:

It is recommended to test the proposed concrete surface prior to application. Often times cure & seals are applied to commercial and residential concrete slabs to protect and speed up the cure of the concrete. Testing for cure & seals is very important as acid based stains will not react with the surface of sealed concrete. Although it is not a guaranteed test, it is recommended to pour a few ounces of water onto the surface. If the water stands on the surface of the concrete and does not penetrate the surface, it is reasonable to say that a cure & seal or some other sort of "blocker" is on the surface. Please note that mechanical means of surface preparation is required to remove the sealer prior to acid staining. If the water penetrates the surface of the concrete with ease, it is reasonable to say that the concrete is stainable.

QUICK STAIN TESTING:

Our stains are concentrated and can be diluted up to 1:1 with water. It is recommended to test our stains straight and at different dilution rates to find the desired color prior to application. Apply stains in approximately 2"x2" squares using a foam brush. It is recommended to apply in an inconspicuous area. For faster drying of the test stains, use a blow dryer for approximately 3-5 minutes to dry the stain. Acid stains dry and leave a chalky like residue. Using a soft, wet hand sponge, scrub the stain to release residue. Flush with water and repeat until the water becomes clean and free of excess residue. Once all excess residue is completely gone and the surface is wet, an approximation of the floor sealed with solvent based sealer should be present. Please note that the stain will rub off the surface if a cure & seal is present. This sample should cover approximately 3-7 square feet depending upon dilution ratio, concrete porosity, application type, etc.
